AEROFLOT CANCELS DOZENS OF FLIGHTS AFTER CYBERATTACK CLAIMED BY BELARUSIAN HACKERS

Russian national airline Aeroflot was forced to cancel over 40 flights from Moscow following a major cyberattack that disrupted its information systems.
The disruption, which affected flight operations at Sheremetyevo International Airport, was later claimed by a pro-Ukraine hacker group known as Silent Crow in collaboration with the Belarusian activist network Cyber Partisans. The hackers allege they destroyed thousands of the airline’s servers, gained access to internal systems, and stole sensitive company and passenger data.
Russian authorities have launched a criminal investigation into the incident. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov called the reports “alarming,” while Aeroflot has yet to provide a detailed public statement on the extent of the damage.
The attack has also shaken investor confidence. Aeroflot’s shares dipped nearly 3% on Monday, adding to a broader monthly decline amid mounting concerns over cybersecurity and operational resilience.
The hackers claim the breach was a response to Russia's ongoing military activities in Ukraine and Belarus' support for Moscow. They also threatened to leak internal Aeroflot data unless the company complies with unspecified demands.
As investigations continue, cybersecurity experts warn the incident highlights growing vulnerabilities in critical Russian infrastructure, especially in the aviation sector.
