Alliance Girls’ High School teacher Peter Albert Ayiro has resigned from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) following mounting sexual abuse allegations that sparked public uproar.
In a resignation letter dated August 17, 2025, Ayiro cited “false accusations,” cyberbullying, threats, and humiliation as reasons for his exit after more than 26 years of service. He maintained his innocence but said the ordeal had caused him unbearable distress, including ostracism from his church community.
Ayiro, who served as the school’s Christian Union patron, paid KES 105,000 via M-Pesa, equivalent to one month’s salary, in lieu of notice, and asked the TSC for guidance on clearance and exit procedures.
His resignation comes just weeks after the TSC suspended him on allegations of sexual misconduct, following an investigative exposé by Africa Uncensored. The matter had triggered alumni protests, calls for prosecution, and condemnation from rights groups.
The TSC and Ministry of Education have yet to issue an official update on the ongoing investigations or possible legal action.
