Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has asked critics of the Kenya Kwanza administration to be fair to the president, saying that all the promises Ruto made during campaigns will be fulfilled.
Speaking during a consultative meeting with elected leaders, professionals, economic sector stakeholders, and grassroots leaders from Samburu County in Karen earlier today, Kindiki insisted that President Ruto was given five years to deliver on his promises and therefore cannot be assessed in just two years.
"I want to ask our critics, be fair to President William Ruto. All the things he promised will be achieved. Just give him time. He has a five-year term. You can’t assess his performance for a five-year term in two years. That's unfair,” Kindiki said.
He, however, noted that together with Ruto, they do not mind the criticism because it reminds them that they have work to do for the people of Kenya.
“Those questions will come at the right time, but we also don’t mind you reminding us what we said because you are helping us achieve our targets.”
The Deputy President further reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfill all promises they made to the people of Kenya, saying that they will account for each day they have been in office when the time comes.
The DP also expressed his confidence that, in the end, the Kenya Kwanza administration will outperform the expectations of many.
“I just wonder what these characters will say once we deliver... we will account for each day in office. The other day, I saw some characters appearing perplexed when sugarcane farmers in Mumias were given bonuses," Kindiki said.
