Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has announced a significant restructuring within the National Government Administration to enhance service delivery and optimize operations. The changes, effective immediately, were detailed in a statement issued from Harambee House on July 25, 2025. Key appointments include Jacob Narengo Namulen, who has been named Principal Administrative Secretary for Internal Security. He will play a pivotal role in coordinating national security efforts. Narengo served as Busia County Commissioner.
Beverly K. Opwora has been appointed Principal Administrative Secretary for National Administration, underscoring the government’s focus on improving efficiency and oversight within the administrative framework. She was the alternate to the Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration.
Other notable changes include Thomas Saka taking over as Secretary for Internal Security, while Moses Kipkoech Lilian assumes the role of Secretary for National Administration. Dickson Liyayi Magotsi has been appointed Secretary for Policy and Liaison, a position critical for fostering coordination among national government departments and agencies. At the regional level, Gilbert Kitiyo has been appointed as the new Regional Commissioner for Nairobi, and Joshua Nkanatha will oversee the Central Region.
These appointments aim to strengthen leadership and eservice delivery at the grassroots level. According to the statement, the reorganization is part of ongoing efforts to improve efficiency within the National Government Administration. The Ministry reiterated its commitment to ensuring responsive and effective leadership across all levels of government.
