GACHAGUA ASSURES VICTORY FOR THE OPPOSITION IN THE 2027 ELECTIONS

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has expressed confidence that the opposition will win the presidential seat in the 2027 general elections. Speaking to Kenyans in Seattle in the United States on Friday, June 11, 2025, Gachagua stated that the opposition will support one candidate to ensure they win the top seat.
“I have said if they pick Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, we will support him to the end; if they pick former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, we will support him till the end; if they choose Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa, we will support him to the end; if they pick our sister, People’s Liberation Party leader Martha Karua, and if by mistake they pick me, I will win the vote,” he declared.
Further, Gachagua stated that the opposition will win against a President William Ruto and former prime minister Raila Odinga coalition by 70 per cent plus one vote.
Gachagua stated that the opposition is better off without the former prime minister. “Even if they (Raila Odinga and William Ruto) decide to run together, we will beat them 70 plus one. If Raila decides to run, Ruto will be number 4 in the election. Either way, we are okay; Ruto is a one-term president,” he declared.
Similarly, he stated that Odinga has lost popularity after joining the broad-based government in March 2025.
