Research Ireland called for applications for the Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarships, which cover full-time sponsorship for master's and doctoral students in all disciplines.
Kenyan scholars who are interested in pursuing full-time research master's or doctoral studies in Ireland can now apply for this fully funded scholarship opportunity.
The scholarships are designed to support excellent research and improve fairness, transparency, and international collaboration.
Innovative ideas addressing new and frontier regions of inquiry or ones that suggest novel, creative approaches are welcome.
Interdisciplinary ideas are welcomed as it is valued that the advancement of basic knowledge is achieved through the merging of information, techniques, tools, and viewpoints from two or more disciplines.
The scheme is open to new students entering a Master's or PhD course of study or to enrolled students in the first year of the degree for which they are seeking funding, equivalent to a full-degree funding scheme.
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
1. Be new entrants to the postgraduate program, or have completed no more than the first year of their degree
2. Hold a first-class or upper second-class honours bachelor’s degree or, if not, a master’s degree
3. Be affiliated with an Eligible Research Body, responsible for verifying all academic results
4. Applications may be submitted in English or Irish only
5. Must not have had two previous unsuccessful applications, regardless of research body or topic change
6. Must not be a permanent staff member at any Irish or international research body
7. Must have a primary supervisor who will guide the research project. Primary supervisors can endorse only one applicant per scholarship cycle; co-supervisor or secondary supervisor roles have no restriction
