The national 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) begins today.
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) said that everything was in order for a smooth exercise, after the practice sessions conducted on Friday.
French, German, Arabic, and Kenyan Sign Language orals will begin for the candidates.
The practicals will run from Wednesday to Friday, October 31.
KNEC Chief Executive Officer Davind Njengere noted that 996,078 pupils will be taking the exam.
An additional 1,298,089 students will write the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams next week while 1,130,669 will write the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA).
KNEC Chief Executive Officer Njengere also added that storage containers have been upgraded from 617 used previously to 642 in order to facilitate distribution of examination material.
Meanwhile, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba confirmed that action would be taken legally against those who are caught engaging in examination malpractice.
