KENYA CONDEMNS ISRAEL FOR BOMBING QATAR

Kenya has condemned Israel’s attack on the State of Qatar, terming it a violation of international law. Israeli forces carried out strikes in Doha with multiple explosions and thick black smoke seen over the Katara District on Tuesday, September 9.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency said the targeted strike was aimed at senior Hamas leaders who have directed the group’s activities for years
In a statement dated Thursday, September 11, 2025, Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack poses a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.
“The Government of the Republic of Kenya notes with great concern the attack on a building in the State of Qatar that resulted in casualties, loss of life, and property on Tuesday, 9th September 2025. On its own admission, the State of Israel carried out this bombing,” read the statement in part.
“The attack is not only a clear violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the State of Qatar but also poses a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.”
At the same time, the Ministry stated that the conduct violates international law and “undermines the principles of peace and security that we must all uphold”. The Ministry added that the attack is incompatible with the United Nations 1970 Declaration on Principles of International Law concerning Friendly Relations and Cooperation among States.
Kenya urged all parties to exercise restraint and uphold the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other states. The East African nation also urged involved parties to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy over violence and commit to peaceful coexistence.
