Eliud Kipsang, a Kenyan middle - distance runner has died at 28 years old as a result of a cardiac arrest.
Kipsang, who was domiciling in the US and representing Alabama University in athletics, passed away on Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington.
The athlete stood out in 2022, setting a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) 1500m record within 3minutes 33.74 seconds , at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
However, it was broken by Villanova’s Liam Murphy.
Kipsang suffered cardiac arrest on Friday, June 6 Reports from a Go Fund Me , marshalled to support Kipsang's repatriation and funeral expenses, indicated that he was diagnosed of cardiac arrest on Friday, 6, June at the Good Samaritan hospital, where he later on succumbed of the state.
“On Friday, June 6th, 2025, Eliud suffered cardiac arrest and was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, WA, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).
