KHALIF KAIRO RELEASED

Entrepreneur and influencer Khalif Kairo has been released from prison following a presidential pardon granted by President William Ruto. Kairo, one of the 56 inmates freed under the Power of Mercy, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his gratitude and faith with his followers shortly after his release.

In a brief but powerful post, he wrote:

“Glory to GOD. Thanks for the unwavering support.”

The message quickly went viral, sparking emotional reactions from fans, friends, and fellow public figures who had rallied behind him during his time behind bars. Kairo's arrest had previously drawn public attention, with many calling for his release and questioning the fairness of his sentencing.

His release comes as part of President Ruto’s latest wave of pardons, which targeted individuals who had demonstrated good conduct or were considered deserving of a second chance. Among the 56 pardoned were 31 individuals serving life sentences and 25 others who qualified for early release based on sentence reviews.

Supporters welcomed Kairo’s return with celebration, while some human rights activists saw the move as a broader win for justice reform in Kenya. The clemency initiative is aimed at reducing prison overcrowding and encouraging a more rehabilitative approach to justice.

Kairo has not yet released a detailed statement or indicated whether he plans to return to his business or public life, but his brief post suggests gratitude and resilience as he begins a new chapter.
