LARRY MADOWO RESPONDS ON CALL TO RUN FOR PRESIDENCY

CNN International Correspondent Larry Madowo has firmly dismissed growing online pressure urging him to consider a presidential bid in Kenya, making it clear that he has no political ambitions.

The speculation gained traction on Wednesday after a social media user sparked a debate with a provocative question: "Has anyone thought about Larry Madowo being President of Kenya? He can be amazing," wrote Eric Mutai on X (formerly Twitter).

Madowo, one of Kenya’s most accomplished journalists with a global footprint, quickly shot down the suggestion with a curt reply: “Immediately, no!”

He followed it up with a humorous but pointed reflection on the fickle nature of Kenyan politics, warning that the same people praising him today could just as easily turn on him tomorrow.

"Mnichague halafu kidogo kidogo Madowo must go? Mnikome kabisa!" , Which loosely translates : You vote me in then shortly start saying 'Madowo must go? , Leave me alone!

Despite his rejection, the idea continued to gain attention online. Another user rallied support, describing Madowo as a visionary figure with untapped leadership potential.

"Why not back Larry? He’s got the vision, the drive, and the untapped potential to make waves. Investing in him isn’t just a bet; it’s a bold move to fuel a game-changer. Do you think what I’m thinking?" the user posted.
