The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has announced a nationwide recruitment drive to enlist 10,000 police constables in a bid to boost security personnel across the country.
According to the commission, the exercise will run from October 3 to October 9, 2025, with recruitment taking place at designated constituency centres between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily. Successful candidates will report to police training colleges on November 17, 2025.
Applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged between 18 and 28 years, hold a valid national identity card, and have attained at least a KCSE mean grade of D+, including a D+ in English or Kiswahili. They are also required to be physically and medically fit, with minimum height standards of 5 feet 8 inches for men and 5 feet 3 inches for women. Candidates must have no criminal record, while female applicants must not be pregnant during recruitment and throughout the training period.
The NPSC encouraged National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet the minimum qualifications to apply. All candidates must present original and photocopies of their identity documents, academic certificates and other relevant papers during the exercise.
The recruitment will be carried out at specified centres in every constituency, with the full list of venues published on the NPSC website and in leading newspapers.
