NYS Announces 60 Fabrication Job Opportunities for Graduates in Dubai
The National Youth Service (NYS) has unveiled 60 fabrication job openings for its graduates in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This initiative aims to provide skilled Kenyan youth with international work experience in the fabrication industry.

In a notice dated Wednesday, June 4, NYS stated that a leading Dubai based fabrication company, specializing in steel, structural, and industrial fabrication as well as pipe work for ship repair and rig up, is seeking NYS-trained fabricators eager to advance their skills overseas.

“Are you a fabricator keen on advancing your skills by interacting with the latest fabrication technology? The National Youth Service Employment Liaison Office is thrilled to inform you about job opportunities in Dubai, UAE, for trained fabricators. This is your chance to work with top employers, gain international experience, and earn a salary,” the notice read.

Job Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

Designing, developing, and implementing fabrication processes and procedures.
Creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation.
Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and placement of steel structures and reinforcing bars.
Measuring and cutting steel bars to required lengths using tools such as shears, torches, and saws.
Bending and shaping steel bars using hand tools and machines.
Securing steel bars in concrete forms using wire clips or welds.
Installing steel structures and reinforcing bars per specifications and safety standards.
Collaborating with design engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be a graduate of the National Youth Service.
Hold a Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Have completed a course in Welding and Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering (Production), or any metal fabrication-related course.
Possess excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
Hold a valid passport.Those who will pass the test and don't have travelling Passports will have their Passports Fast tracked.

Candidates who meet the job requirements will be contacted for practical tests (interviews) scheduled to take place at the National Youth Service Engineering Institute on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

Benefits

Successful applicants will receive:

A monthly salary of Ksh51,087.
A monthly food allowance of Ksh12,300.
Employer-provided accommodation, transportation, and medical insurance.
A two year employment contract with the possibility of renewal.

Terms and Conditions of Employment

Probationary Period
A probationary period of 90 days will apply from the date the worker arrives in Dubai.

Working Hours
The employee shall work eight (8) hours per day, six (6) days per week, in accordance with UAE Labour Laws.

Overtime and Benefits
Overtime pay and all other employment benefits shall be provided in accordance with the UAE Labour Laws.

Annual Leave
The employee is entitled to 30 days of leave per year.

Service Gratuity and Leave Pay
These will be paid as per the provisions of UAE Labour Laws.

Other Terms and Conditions
All additional employment terms and conditions not specified herein shall be governed by the UAE Labour Laws.
