The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced the recruitment of Technical Instructors and Lecturers, with the exercise scheduled to take place in September 2025. A total of 130 vacancies are available for the position of Technical Instructor III across 29 different technical fields. Fields with one vacancy each include Accounting, Farm Management, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Sales and Marketing. Fields with two vacancies each are Irrigation and Drainage Technology, Horticulture, Catering and Accommodation, Secretarial Studies, Supply Chain Management, Carpentry and Joinery, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Diploma), Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy (Cosmetology), and Plant and Services Engineering.
There are three vacancies each in Agricultural Engineering and Fashion Design. Four vacancies are available in Food and Beverage, Mechanical Engineering (Plant), and Business Management. Other positions available include Plumbing, Information Communication Technology, Mechanical Engineering-Fabrication and Metallurgy, and Automotive Engineering. To be eligible for appointment as a Technical Instructor III, candidates must hold a Diploma in any of the specified fields. Applicants must have a Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution. Possession of a NYS Discharge Certificates will be considered an added advantage. All applicants must also meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya. Successful candidates will earn a monthly salary ranging between Ksh28,620 and Ksh37,100, with benefits that include medical cover under SHA and allowances for housing, leave, and commuting.
Applicants who meet the above qualifications should complete the PSC2 (Revised 2016) Application for Employment Form. The application must include detailed curriculum vitae, certified copies and academic certificates, testimonials, and a copy of the national identity card or passport.
