PASSARIS OFFERS KSH100K REWARD FOR INFORMATION ON ABIGAEL’S MURDER

The Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris has offered a Ksh 100,000 reward for credible information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators who raped and killed an 18-year –old girl in Mwiki-Phase 3. In a statement on Monday, June 23, 2025, Passsaris has directed the public to report to the Officer Commanding station at Mwiki police station or reach out to her privately through social media. She has assured confidentiality for anyone who may come forward.

Abigael Wina Wanjiku, was raped and brutally murdered on Thursday night, June 19,2025. She sustained multiple stab wounds and head injuries. She had been attacked while home alone.  According to Kasarani Sub-County Criminal Investigative Officer, Abigael was stabbed five times in the stomach and once in the neck and right ear using a knife that was recovered at the scene. She was also hit in the head with a blunt object, suspected to be a cooking pan, which was found at the crime scene resulting to a broken skull.

Following the incident, residents took to the streets in protest, blocking roads and demanding justice, which lead to the death of Joshua Steven Maina, who was shot by police. Detectives have launched investigations to trace those behind the murder, while the victim’s body was moved to Kenyatta University Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination. She condemned the killings when she visited the two grieving families. The death of Joshua has sparked renewed protests with residents taking to the streets for a second consecutive day.
