PRESIDENT RUTO SETS CRITERIA FOR JUDGING HIS TIME IN OFFICE

President William Ruto has outlined the criteria Kenyans should use to measure his performance since assuming office. Speaking during the Kenya Urban Forum, Ruto stated that his performance should not be judged based on time, terms, or elections.
He defended the Affordable Housing Project (AHP), asserting that it is not dependent on presidential terms or general elections.
“I will not allow anybody to define me in terms of time, terms and elections, no. This project is not about how many terms you serve, or which elections come this or that way,” Ruto said.
Ruto explained that Kenyans should evaluate leaders based on their impact and transformation.
The President remarked that leadership should be measured by the foundation it lays for future generations.
He emphasised that this foundation should not be intended for the next general election but for future leaders.
“I want leadership to be defined by how much impact and transformation you are making and how good a foundation you are laying for the generation to come. That is how leadership should be defined in Kenya,” he said.
“It is not how long you serve but about the difference and impact you are making. It is about how solid a foundation we are building, not for tomorrow or the election, but for the next generation.”
