PROPHET DAVID OWUOR DENIES VIRAL DOOMSDAY PROPHECY CLAIMS

Renowned preacher Prophet David Owuor has disassociated himself from widely circulated claims alleging that he prophesied the world would end on August 2, 2025. In an official statement issued on Friday 1 August, 2025, the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness dismissed the rumours as false and misleading, accusing those behind them of intentionally distorting the message to tarnish the prophet’s reputation and discredit the ministry.

“These allegations aim to discredit not only the Lord’s prophet, Dr. David Owuor, but also to disrupt the unity and testimony of our church,” the official statement read. The church pointed out that it had already addressed the matter in an earlier communication released on July 13, 2025. Urging responsible digital engagement, the church called on media outlets, bloggers, and social media users to avoid spreading or entertaining unverified claims. Instead, it encouraged a commitment to truth, peace, and discernment. “As believers, we are called to uphold truth, peace, and righteousness. Rather than rushing to share rumours, let us remain prayerful, discerning, and united,” the statement urged.

The recent false prophecy stirred panic among some members of the public. However, this is not the first time such rumours have surfaced online. A similar wave of misinformation spread last year, falsely attributing a doomsday prophecy to Dr. Owuor and citing November 2, 2024, as the predicted date.

Owuor is one of the prominent religious figures in the world, often known for his grand rallies and all white suits. Among his followers, he is viewed as a miracle worker and one who has had several encounters with the supernatural world
