WANYAMA FAMILY MOURNING

Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama and Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Vice President McDonald Mariga are mourning the death of their mother, Mama Mildred Wanyama.

Mama Mildred passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday , June 14, 2025, according to a statement shared by the family.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, who left us peacefully this morning," wrote Mariga.

Mama Mildred was the mother of three renowned Kenyan sports personalities: Victor Wanyama, McDonald Mariga, and national basketball player Mercy Wanyama.

The Wanyama family has received an outpouring of condolences from fans, fellow athletes, and members of the Kenyan sports community.
