AGRICULTURE MINISTRY LAUNCHES AUDIT COMMITTEE TO BOLSTER TRANSPARENCY

The Ministry of Agriculture has officially launched an Internal Audit Committee aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, and prudent financial management within the sector.
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi presided over the launch, stating that the committee will ensure all public resources allocated to agricultural projects are used effectively. "This move is part of broader reforms to restore public trust and improve service delivery in the ministry," he said.
The committee, composed of internal audit professionals and representatives from the National Treasury, will be responsible for evaluating internal controls, risk management, and compliance with relevant laws and policies.
Linturi emphasized the ministry's commitment to aligning with President William Ruto's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which heavily relies on agricultural productivity.
The committee is expected to begin its oversight duties immediately, with quarterly reports to be submitted to the ministry and Parliament for review.
