Nigerian Afropop sensation Ayra Starr has officially signed a major international deal with Roc Nation, the entertainment label founded by American music mogul Jay-Z.
The announcement, which surfaced after Roc Nation listed Ayra Starr among its featured artists on its official website, marks a significant milestone in the rising star’s global career. The "Rush" hitmaker is now part of Roc Nation’s latest talent acquisitions, joining a roster that includes global icons such as Rihanna, J. Cole, and DJ Khaled.
This development comes shortly after Ayra Starr’s historic win at the 2025 BET Awards, where she clinched the Best International Act category—becoming only the second Nigerian woman to receive the honor after Tems.
While Ayra Starr is still signed to Nigeria’s Mavin Records under Don Jazzy, the deal with Roc Nation is expected to focus on international management and distribution, allowing her to further expand her footprint across the global music scene.
The partnership also places her in the same league as fellow Nigerian superstars like Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, and Burna Boy, who have previously worked with Roc Nation on international deals.
Fans and industry stakeholders have praised the move, describing it as a powerful step forward for African music on the world stage.
Ayra Starr, known for her vibrant sound and bold style, has yet to issue a personal statement about the deal, but excitement continues to grow across social media.
