Kenyans Crown Ruto New Nickname "El Chapo"

Since assuming office in 2022, Kenyan President William Ruto has been the subject of various nicknames coined by the public, reflecting their perceptions of his policies and promises.

Initially dubbed "Zakayo," a reference to the biblical tax collector Zacchaeus, Ruto was criticized for his administration's tax policies.

This name was a nod to his promises of economic reform and his self proclaimed role as a leader shouldering the nation's challenges.

However, the latest nickname, "El Chapo," has taken the internet by storm. This cheeky reference to the infamous Mexican drug lord Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán emerged after Ruto's recent pledge to purchase a machine capable of cooking one million chapatis daily for Nairobi's schoolchildren.
