A civilian aircraft was dramatically intercepted by North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) fighter jets after it strayed into a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) zone protecting U.S. President Donald Trump.
The plane entered the no-fly zone over Trump’s Bedminster golf club and failed to respond to initial radio calls. NORAD scrambled fighter jets, which deployed flares to get the pilot’s attention before escorting the aircraft to a nearby airfield for inspection.
Authorities confirmed that Trump was never in danger. The president’s schedule was briefly adjusted while the airspace breach was addressed. U.S. federal investigators are probing the incident to determine whether the violation was the result of pilot error, equipment failure, or a deliberate act.
