A family in Kayole, Nairobi, is calling for justice following the tragic death of Sharon Cate, a 40-year-old woman who was allegedly killed by her boyfriend during a violent domestic altercation. The incident, which took place in her home, unfolded in the presence of her 11-year-old son.
According to the family, Sharon and her boyfriend, identified only as Sammy, got into an argument that escalated fatally. During the confrontation, Sharon's young son was reportedly instructed to call for help. When he returned with a neighbor, they found the door locked and were unable to reach Sharon.
Later, police were alerted and forced entry into the house, where they discovered Sharon’s lifeless body. She had suffered multiple stab wounds, and a blood-stained kitchen knife was recovered at the scene. The suspect had already fled by the time officers arrived.
Police have since launched a manhunt for Sammy, who is believed to have gone into hiding. Authorities are urging members of the public to come forward with any information that could help locate him.
Sharon’s family, devastated by the loss, is demanding swift action and accountability. They also expressed deep concern for the emotional trauma suffered by her son, who witnessed the events leading up to her death.
The case has reignited conversations about domestic violence and the need for stronger measures to protect women and children in their homes. Community members in Kayole are also rallying behind the family, urging justice to be served without delay.
