ITUMBI HECKLED OFF STAGE AS MOURNERS CHANT “UONGO!” AT KK MWENYEWE’S BURIAL

Tension erupted at KK Mwenyewe’s burial after presidential aide Dennis Itumbi was heckled and forced to cut short his speech.

Itumbi, speaking on behalf of President William Ruto, tried to highlight government efforts to support content creators. But mourners weren’t convinced.

“That’s a lie! Lies! Ruto must go!” they shouted as he spoke.

The burial, held in Lari, Kiambu County, had drawn hundreds—including politicians, content creators, and grieving fans of the late comedian. KK was famous for his hilarious impersonations of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Things turned political when Itumbi claimed the government had scrapped the DST tax and was setting up funding options for creators.

“We’ve made plans to support content creators through SACCOs,” he said but his words triggered more protests.

Mourners shouted “Wantam! Wantam!” a viral anti-government slogan meaning the regime is temporary. Even when Itumbi promised a job to KK’s close friend Kafengo and pledged to pay KK’s sister’s school fees, the crowd grew louder.

“Shout all you want, but we’re putting money in creators’ pockets,” Itumbi insisted before he was booed off stage.

In a heartbreaking moment, Kafengo, KK’s best friend, broke down while trying to speak. The two met in campus and created content together. Social media users flooded his page with messages of comfort.
