Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has warned political leaders against inciting division and unrest for political gain, terming such actions unpatriotic and irresponsible. He was speaking during an economic empowerment event held in Olooltepes, Kajiado West Constituency.
Kindiki stated that peace, security, and stability are key foundations for socio-economic development and must be protected. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to delivering equitable development across the country under the Kenya Kwanza administration.
In Kajiado County, 14 markets are currently under construction as part of a nationwide market infrastructure programme aimed at supporting local trade. Additionally, electricity connectivity projects valued at over KSh 700 million are being implemented to connect 4,000 new households across the county. Kajiado West Constituency has been allocated KSh 125 million for the connection of additional households to the national grid.
The event brought together several national leaders, including Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, and Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot. Local leaders, including Kajiado West MP George Sunkuiya and Woman Representative Leah Sankaire, were also present.
The leaders reviewed ongoing national government projects and engaged with local women and youth groups on economic empowerment initiatives.
